Kent 2020 exhibitors already doing business…

Almost 150 guests came together at the Kent Event Centre yesterday for the Kent 2020 Exhibitor Information & Networking Exchange, taking place ahead of this year’s Kent 2020 Vision LIVE on Wednesday 13th May 2015.

Kent 2020 celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year and the pre-event exhibitor meeting provided a great opportunity for participants to begin planning and doing business with each other ahead of the main event. Historically, many exhibitors recoup their investment in the show before it even starts, simply by doing business with other companies that are taking part, eg. designing graphics for stands, printing promotional materials, providing giveaways or starting marketing campaigns to tie into their presence in May.

K2020 2015 - Preview (Jonathan Jay) - CropAfter a warm welcome from BSK’s new CEO Alex Ledger and Mark Dance from Kent County Council, attendees were treated to masses of practical advice on getting the most from the May event, presented by Nick Litton from Revolution Events, aided by some useful video input from Ronnie Pratten of RP Communications – plus additional insights on PR, social media and search marketing from Katie King & Nick Huxsted from Zoodikers and a high-energy session with special guest speaker Jonathan Jay of Digital Lighthouse, widely regarded as a pioneer in the world of direct and digital marketing.

Extra Sales & Pre-Event Testing Opportunities for all Kent 2020 exhibitors

Neil de Villiers from Blue Square Deals explains an innovative new service available exclusively to exhibitors at the market-leading Kent 2020 Vision events.

Blue-Square-Deals-Colour

Getting your product or service in front of potential customers is a key challenge for everyone.

Exhibitors at Kent 2020 Vision events already get a significant head-start by appearing there and now they can benefit from a free ‘value-added’ service via a new partnership with Blue Square Deals.

By far the most common objective for exhibitors at B2B shows is to meet new prospects and customers to make more sales. So an awful lot of your success rests on a single day of face-to-face contact: where getting your message, approach and promotional material just right is critical to creating the maximum possible impact.

You cannot simply turn up at an exhibition with no preparation and expect it to be a raging success (unless your idea of success is a day out of the office). Knowing what message you should present to your audience is far more valuable than a box of generic leaflets, however glossy and well-designed these might be.

Consider for a moment these alternative ways of approaching your next exhibition stand:

Q. What would be different if you were able to test the audience’s response to multiple (different) offers you are thinking about making on the day to see which one performed the best?

Q. How would your success at the show improve if you already knew exactly what the audience wanted from you, and how they wanted it presented?

The good news is that, as an exhibitor of one of the Kent 2020 Vision events, you can now do just that. You will be able to test your products and services on the exact audience that will be coming to the events – and not just in the periods leading up to them, but all year round.

Oakwood OfferYou will be able to take a product and package it in multiple ways, using different messages, headlines and price points to find out which version delivers the best results.

This testing facility is available free of charge to Kent 2020 exhibitors and could even prove to be a significant source of sales in its own right. The simple ability to test your products and services against the same audiences that will be attending the shows is Marketing 101: test everything to see what works and what doesn’t. Where else can you get a chance to test your products and services against a very targeted audience without any up-front costs, catches or tie-ins? Probably nowhere.

> HOW IT WORKS

For 2015, the Kent 2020 website will feature an additional section dedicated to current promotions and offers. Simply click here to view the site in advance and register as a new user.

Once you have logged in, you are free to create new promotions (deals), giving you the flexibility to introduce various constraints to your offer, such as:

• Limit the quantity you will make available
• Limit the date and time duration of your offer
• Specify exactly when your offer will start and end

This facility is available to existing exhibitors 365 days a year, which also means that you are able to make sales and reach customers that don’t even come to the show!

Alternatively, you can view our step-by-step video to talk you through the process.

> COSTS

There are no costs to register or list your promotion. This is absolutely free and there are no catches.

If a sale occurs, then there will be a small 10% commission charge.

If there are no sales, then there are no fees. Simple.

> LIMITATIONS

Listing promotions is only available to existing exhibitors of the Kent 2020 events.

Exhibitors are limited to a maximum of five concurrent promotions at any one time. Additional promotions can be accommodated concurrently, but will incur additional charges.

This facility is available now and will cost you nothing to try it out.

> SUPPORT WHEN YOU NEED IT

The site is fully supported and managed by Kent 2020 partners, Blue Square Deals.

The approach is very personal and Blue Square’s extensive experience in creating deals and promotions is a very useful platform to bounce ideas off (if you need).

The service is fully supported and there is an instant chat facility available on the site if you have any immediate questions.

If you would like to discuss anything related to your promotions in more detail (such as, “I have this product, how could I package it into a successful promotion?”), or if you would like them to call you directly, then please send your contact details to customerservices@bluesquaredeals.co.uk and they will be in touch.

Wet Fish, Double-Touch or Hand Crusher?

200 exhibitors at the forthcoming Kent 2020 Vision LIVE 2013 gathered together at the Kent Event Centre last Thursday, to compare handshakes and gear up for the UK’s largest regional business event.

Last week’s Exhibitor Preview meeting provided exhibitors with a valuable half-day of hints, tips and practical advice on getting the most from this important annual networking event. Key contributors included Mark Dance of Kent County Council, Jane Ollis from BSK-CiC, Katie King from Zoodikers, Nick Litton from Revolution Events and Melanie Scott from Facts International, representing the Kent branch of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

Guest speaker Christopher Barrat from Greystone Partnership provided some fascinating insights into effective networking within a live event environment – including an examination of key communication skills, objective-setting and follow-up techniques. Christopher’s highly interactive (and entertaining) session had guests practising handshakes such as the ‘wet fish’, ‘double-touch’ and ‘hand crusher’ while looking out for specific formations of new prospects, such as the ‘closed two’ or ‘open three’. He also encouraged all exhibitors to be ‘eagles not vultures’ while attending business exhibitions, taking a pro-active approach to meeting, greeting and giving – rather than resorting to antiquated ‘hard sell’ methods that rarely have a positive outcome.

You can catch some of the highlights on YouTube by clicking here.

With more than 75% of the space now sold for this year’s event (and another sell-out show predicted), potential exhibitors need to sign up fast to avoid missing out on this major opportunity to connect with new and existing customers. To check availability and stand options, please call Alice Boorman or Tom Healing at Revolution Events on 01892-820930. Stands start at just £128 per metre, making it easy to generate a great return on investment for businesses of all shapes & sizes.
